We stayed for 2008 Christmas week. Very impressed by its services. No matter restaurant, beach, doorman, front desk & concieger. Almost all staff are very friendly, accomordating and willing to help. 12/22/2008 it re-opened Executive Lounge for afternoon tea (3- 4:30 pm) and evening drinks (6-11 PM). The loung is at 7th floor with a breathtaking balcony facing beach and... more

This is a great hotel in a busy touristic city. The rooms are nice and the food at the restaurant is absolutely superb as is the ambiance of the cigar bar. The executive lounge is strange being a very long narrow room with a nice, but very warm, balcony running along the outside of the hotel at the top looking... more

Thank you for the great feedback. I am pleased to advise that the executive lounge is currently closed for refurbishment and will reopen in January in a new location with spectacular views of the harbour. Regarding our beach, though small it is ideal for people who are looking for a quiter hotel to relax at, rather than one of the...

I stay in the Bahamas for business approximately 8-10 times per year and for a frequent traveler I enjoy this hotel over many of the other selections in Nassau, because of its close proximity to the downtown area. My room was clean, newly renovated, and it faced the ocean. The concierge lounge has a good breakfast selection, afternoon tea as... more

I stayed several times at this property for business I was conducting in Nassau. It is really the best choice in Nassau for business travelers. The lobby is beautiful, and there is a pool area and small beach. However, if you are not traveling here on business, you should know that the beach actually fronts onto the harbor area where... more

Many thanks for your feedback. We are certainly more of a boutique business hotel who also cater for upscale leisure guests, people looking for a quieter location. Regarding our bedrooms, we are currently refurbishing and will our first rooms ready by the end of January 2009. they are alot more modern but respect the Hotels rich heritage. All rooms will...

As is always the case with the major hotel chains, there are the shining examples - those which deliver everything the brand promises, and more - and there are those which don't really live up to the standards that we, as consumers, have rightfully come to expect. The British Colonial Hilton falls into the second category. First off, I have... more

Many thanks for your feedback though i was sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay. I believe you are a crew member with British Airways and despite your lack of satisfaction, other crew are very happy. As a result, we just signed an extension to the crew contract for a further 2 years. Regarding your feedback on...

Whatever you may be quoted as a rate, it is not what you will pay, believe me. Mandatory service charges for food service (buffet included), maid service, energy surcharges and the like will add substantially to the "advertised" rate. This is a terribly misleading and dishonest prctice by the hotel, and Hilton should be ashamed! Check-in was slow, but courteous.... more

Many thanks for your feedback. Regarding additional fees and charges, all Hotels in Nassau charge these as manadated by the Government, the hotel association and union. The British Colonial Hilton charge only the mandated fees, unlike other hotels who 'bundle them up' and charge more. Our room fees are as follows; 6% government tax 6% resort levy $4 per person...

I just got back from a vacation that was cut short due to this hotel and I am not one to cut a vacation short. We were supposed to stay there for only 3 nights and we cut the trip to 1. Room service was slow and when it arrived we received two hamburgers(that were undercooked), fries and two bottles... more

Just returned from the Bahamas and a one night stay at the Hilton (after 5 amazing nights at Atlantis), long story. Compared to other Hiltons, this room was small, dingy, lacked light and had a mildewy smell. Aside from the shower trickling, there was no hot water. The room had no towels when we arrived and none of the windows... more

We read the previous reviews and were a little concerned before we went. But we want to say the hotel and staff were wonderful. The staff and the location helped make our stay very pleasant. We would recommend this hotel for people that want a quiet beach and a pleasant staff. You are very close to downtown Nassau for shopping... more
