I agree with many things said in the Nov. 2005 review EXCEPT that not every condo is up to par. My husband and I traded our timeshare for a 1 bedroom condo at the Kuleana. We were shocked at the run-down appearance of the lobby (or the make-shift lobby) as well as the kitchen in the condo they gave us. We called 3 times before arrival to confirm that they had our reservation on file but they never called us back. When we arrived we got the same indifferent treatment. After seeing the condo we asked if we could change but were told that there were only a few condos for people like us that traded. Apparently the complex (which aside from the lobby is very nice) has a mix of permanent residents, timeshare "owners", hotel type "per day" rentals, and timeshares that are used for "trading". From the looks of things, those of us who are not "owners" get the bottom of the barrel condos. The saving grace is that our timeshare was paid off years ago and we only paid the "transfer fee" so the cost of the condo was @ $50 per day. For that price it was worth it.
